April 28, 1999 — The new web site of the Federal Public-State Foundation for the Protection of Investors’ and Shareholders’ Rights became operational on April 15. Media representatives, investors and shareholders, professional capital market participants and everyone else interested in the issues of investor protection in Russia can receive full information on the current and past activities of the Fund, on its achievements and plans for the future on the web site by the address www.fedfond.ru.

The web site visitors also have an opportunity to look through the most significant laws and decrees regulating the protection of investors’ and shareholders’ rights, as well as to gain access to the Fund’s original data base of the information on the unlicensed investment companies, which repeatedly violated the rights of investors.

The web site most important sections include:

  • Information on the regional funds for the protection of investors’ and shareholders’ rights;
  • Documents regulating the procedures of compensation payments;
  • Progress of compensation payments;
  • Main legislative acts, regulating the protection of investors’ rights;
  • List of unlicensed companies, whose investors the Fund works with.

    Interactive design of the site allows the visitors to address their questions and comments to the Fund, exchange opinions on the most significant trials, identification and transfer of unlicensed companies’ assets and compensation payments to next categories of defrauded investors.
