Kostikov is confident that his efforts at the FCSM will demonstrate to investors that regulators and the government are moving in the right direction, and that this, ultimately, lies at the heart of the rehabilitation of Russia's reputation. |
|
Client:
|
Federal Commission for the Securities
Market of the Russian Federation (FCSM of Russia)
|
|
The Assignment:
|
The stark realities of Russia's bubble economy of late 1990s left
many domestic and international investors leery of Russia's securities
market, despite the fact that capitalization grew from $43 billion
in 2000 to $197.2 billion at the end of 2003, a 450% increase. Under
a contract funded by The World Bank, The PBN Company is working
with the FCSM of Russia to highlight the stability and strategic
vision of the agency all with the aim of reinforcing the
image of safety and protection for domestic and foreign investors
in the Russian capital markets.
|
|
PBN’s Strategy:
|
The PBN Company's communications strategy is to break through the
"old Russian stereotypes" held by the international community, particularly
investors, and to overcome the Russian public's general distrust
of all financial institutions. Utilizing senior FCSM of Russia officials
as spokespersons and opinion formers, The PBN Company is positioning
the Commission as an effective and committed "Champion of Investors"
with both Russian and international audiences.
