The Largest, oldest, most famous Ukrainian monastery the KyivPechersk Lavra was founded in 1051 by the monks Antoniy and Feodosiy Pecherskyi to spread and solidify Christianity.

The St. Michael’s Goldendomed Monastery

Founded on July 24, 1108 by Ukrainian PrinceSviatopolk, the Goldendomed Monastery always held a special meaning for Kyivites, as it was dedicated to the “Prince of Angels” – Archangel Mikhael – the Patron of Kyiv…. At this time it contains the men’s monastery and seminary.

Andriyivska Tserkva (St. Andrew’s Church)

Apiece-de resistance of the rococo style. One of Kyiv’s most beautiful churches built in 1755 by the Italian architect Francesco Rastrelli. A panoramic view of Podil and the Dnipro opens from the terrace surrounding the church.

Volodymyrskyi Sobor (Cathedral of St. Volodymyr)

This great cathedral was built in 1882 in the neo-Byzantine style in honor on the Kyiv Prince Volodymyr Velykyi. It has been beautifully decorated inside by outstanding Ukrainian artists of the 19th cent.. Today it is the main Cathedral of the Ukrainian Orchodox Church of the Kyiv Patriarchate.

Vidubytskyi Monastery

The architectural landmark was built as a family monastery in 1070. The Vidubytskyi Monastery has been the cultural and religious center of Ukraine from the 11th cent. till today.

The Mariinskyi Palace

Mariinskiy Palace was designed by Bartolomeo Rastrelli and was used as the residence for visiting members of the imperial family. Today the place is used for official functions.

The House of Chimeres

One of the most original structures in Kyiv – its façade decorated with sculptures of mythological figures. Built in 1902 by Kyuiv architect W. Horodetsky for his own use.

Andriyivskyi Uzviz

Andrew’s Descent – a thousand-year old street connecting the Upper part of Kyiv with the Lower. Today it is the Greenwich Village or the Monmartre of Kyiv filled with art shops and ex-hibits, cafees, beauty and charm. A tourist favorite.
