Senior Advisor on Government Relations — MOSCOW

GENERAL SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proven contacts and relationships with government, legislative and regulatory decision-makers, including Presidential Administration;
- Proven relationships with key Russian policy influencers (e.g. institutes, think tanks, industry associations);
- Equally important, demonstrated strategic thinking and planning skills, including integration of GR with research, public relations, marketing, corporate responsibility, etc.;
- Advocating clients’ interests on all levels of federal and regional government, as well as with NGOs and other third parties;
- Building up PBN’s GR capacity on all levels for the Firm and its clients;
- Managing and executing client programs, project teams and all aspects of PBN’s contractual client obligations;
- Writing client memos (monthly updates, legislative analyses, etc.), position papers, political updates, issue briefs, and client work programs showing strong writing and communication skills in Russian and English;
- Drafting proposals and actively participating in the development of new business and attracting clients from a variety of sectors;
- Integrating with the Firm’s other offices outside Russia and participating in firm-wide projects;
- Communicating in a timely and sustained manner with the CEO, Managing Directors and GR colleagues on key GR/political issues pertinent to the Firm, its clients and potential new business opportunities;
CLIENT MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as a point of contact with clients regarding government relations and political issues as well as overall project status, timelines and other issues.
- Ensure that effective verbal and written communication with the GR team and clients occurs in a timely, frequent manner.
- Anticipate and respond quicky to client requests and information needs.
- Maintain a productive and effective relationship with the client.
The successful candidate for this senior position will have at least 10 years of public policy experience gained from working in government and/or corporate settings. He/she will have strong ethical standards and leadership skills, and be willing to mentor less experienced colleagues working at the Firm.

MUST have a demonstrated interest in Russia and CIS. Candidates fluent in Russian will receive first consideration.

Prefer junior, senior or graduate student majoring in Eurasian regional studies, international relations, or political science |
|
Ability to write well; conduct online research; communicate professionally with clients and the public; and coordinate multiple projects |
|
Must possess attention to detail, be flexible, responsible, creative, well organized, self-reliant, and should demonstrate a great deal of initiative |

Proficiency with MS Word and Excel essential |
Position(s) Available:
- Summer semester interns (UNPAID)
- Full-time (40 hours per week)
